About Me..

My name is Nadya Nickels, and I am a 28-year-old multimedia artist and designer based in Orlando, Florida. My journey as an artist began in Puerto Rico, where I was immersed in a rich artistic culture and grew up in a family of creators, including my mother, a painter and fashion designer.

My first official illustration job at 18 was for AFROPUNK, a platform known

for celebrating individuality, self-expression, and community.

My artist persona, "Eclectic Weirdo," embodies my belief in embracing

individuality and encouraging others to explore their creativity without fear

of judgment. I strive to show that creativity exists within everyone, which

aligns with my desire to promote inclusivity in the arts.

Career

hroughout my career, I have balanced corporate design work with community engagement. After earning my degree from Full Sail University, I worked as a recreation attendant on a resort island, where I hosted art workshops for children. This experience not only allowed me to inspire young minds but also deepened my understanding of art as a therapeutic tool.

My corporate experience includes developing 3D simulation training for the U.S. Navy, creating e-learning modules for college-level courses in entertainment, and working as a social media designer for a major supermarket. More recently, I have been involved in marketing for environmental technology advocacy and climate news. Currently, I work as a freelance illustrator for Cipher News, a climate technology news site, where I combine my passion for storytelling with my commitment to environmental issues.
